Hello to all from your Sunday School,
As we are heading into the last month of
Sunday School for this school year, we are still
focusing on our theme bible verse for this year.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean
not on your own understanding, in all your ways
acknowledge Him and He will make your path
straight! Proverbs 3:5-6. All of the children from
3 years old through HS to teachers have
committed this to memory. We call upon this
verse when we need the Lord's guidance and
support. The Lord knows what is best for us and
we need to listen to Him at all times. This is
only one of many lessons the children have
learned.
Did you have a chance to go to the Easter
program on April 1st...walk through "Journey to
the Cross?" I hope your answer is yes. Our
children did an amazing job memorizing
monolgues to acting out the parts. Many people
were moved by walking through the different
stations of the cross from the annointing of Jesus
to the empty tomb...It was a great experience.
One that I know I will remember, the children
will remember and I hope you do as well.
In the Month of May...Here's the calendar of
activities:
May 13th - Mother's Day - Children sing in
church and give Mother's Day gifts to
all women of Congregation
May 27th - Last Day of SS for year - Children
sing in church and Class Memory
Presentations
May 28th - Memorial Day Parade 2pm (WE
NEED ALL CHURCH
PARTICIPATION) Meet at
Methodist church at 1pm
On behalf of all the Sunday School teachers, I
would like to say just a couple more things.
1. All Praise and Glory be to God
2. Thank you for all of your support and love for
our children and ministry
3. Thank you for the wonderful opportunity you
have given us to teach these wonderfully,
gifted and God-fearing children.

Hello to all from your Sunday School/Family
Ministry Dept,
Our kids, through each Sunday and each
activity we do, are learning about the love of God
and spreading that love to others. Since the
beginning of the year, we have had many
opportunities to do just that. In January, we sang
about God's love in church to the congregation and
had a Lock-in on the 14th - where we enjoyed great
fellowship. In February, we had a great baking
weekend. On Saturday the 11th we made 15 plates
of cookies for the Thornton Police and Fire Depts
and delivered the cookies to the deptartments and
had our Annual Sunday School bake sale to raise
money for our Spring curriculum. We will continue
with a full calendar of activities through March and
April, as we prepare through Lent for Easter.

Happy Spring to all from your Sunday School!

It's so hard to believe that almost an entire year of SS has past.  It seems like just last week we started with the church picnic and carnival.  Our kids have grown so much in the Lord this past year, it's inspiring.  If there was any proof of that, it would have to be the Easter Program two weeks ago when the kids preformed Journey to the Cross.  What a great testament of faith!  And to quote one of our eighth graders at the end of the program, " That was worth the hard work, it was really fun today."  I think that says it all!  Our God is great and everything works through HIM!

The children have a couple more things in store for the month of May.  Check out the calendar and make sure to not to miss these events.

May 8th -   Kids sing in church for Mother's day!  - Gift for all the women of congregation presented by SS

May 29th -  Last Day of SS - Kids sing in church - Class Memory Presentations in church

AN IMPORTANT MEETING FOR ALL SS PARENTS, GRANDPARENTS AND COUNCIL MEMBERS AFTER CHURCH!!!

May 30th -             Memorial Day Parade - WE NEED ADULTS TO RIDE IN CARS!!

Meet at Methodist Church at 1:30pm - Parade from 2pm-3pm

As always, thank you for your support in Sunday School,

Blessed New Year to all for your Sunday School!  A time of new beginnings as we praise God together with our time, talents and treasure at His wonder gift He gave to us, the gift of His one and only Son!  While the Christmas trees, lights and garland may come down, remember that the gift of Jesus is something that lives in us always, God never takes that away.  This is the New Year message to our children.  God is eternal, as is His gift.  As the children have sang in church before, "You can't put Jesus's love in a box" and put it way.  Make sure to keep the spirit of Christmas; the joy, hope, peace and love going all through 2011.  That is a lesson to impart to your children.

Remember the December Challenge!  I am very proud to announce that we have several children that met the challenge and in fact, all exceeded the challenge and attended more services than required! As a note though, we did not count Dec 12 due to the extremely cold and snowy weather that day.  Here are the list of children that made the challenge and will be a part of the pizza party on January 9th after church.  Congratulations!
